Sr Systems (Symitar) Programmer

|Description:||Manage and perform the programming function of the Symitar system utilizing Symitarís programming languages. Will also provide support and help set direction for the Microsoft-based development environment. Responsible for the business analysis, code development, and implementation of assigned projects. Works with other departments in a proactive manner to deliver high-quality solutions in a timely manner. Assists others in the Technology Department with programming solutions and support.|
|Duties:||1.Develops and maintains credit unionís programming solutions.|
a. Develops new solutions and performs enhancements to Symitar system using Power-Ons and Repgens.
b. Develops Symform and SymformPDF files.
c. Support enterprise-wide database environment including development in SSIS and BIDS.
d. Report writing utilizing Microsoft Reporting Services and Symitarís Easy Writer
e. Assists in the research and development of new programming software and solutions.
f. Ensures that all code is documented properly.
g. Demonstrates solid project management skills to ensure successful completion of assigned projects.
h. Assists in training department staff and system users in the new solutions and or methods.
2. Assumes responsibility for effectively testing, recommending, and implementing programming solutions, enhancements and processes.
a. Tests and evaluates program releases and or requested enhancements for reliability and functionality.
b. Develops processes to improve system reliability and proposes solutions to meet the future needs of both the credit union and members.
c. Provides suggestions for effective use of the overall data systems used to carry out the business of credit union members.
3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with employees, suppliers, and outside vendors.
a. Tracks and resolves employee programming problems promptly and effectively and uses the help desk tracking to ensure reported issues are completed.
b. Ensures that new releases are communicated to users so that effective use of the system is maintained.
d. Promotes goodwill and a positive image of the Credit Union in working with data system vendors.
|Qualifications:||EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelorís degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. |
Programming concepts, terms, methods. Knowledge of financial institution products and services as they relate to data system functionality. Knowledge of SQL database and reporting.
Understanding of Company operations and output requirements.
At least five years of experience with Symitar programming
At least two years of experience with Microsoft programming technologies such as .NET
At least one year with SQL database maintenance
Java experienced is a positive but not required
Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others.
Able to communicate complex information clearly.
Attentive to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to coordinate well with other departments and personnel.
