Member Service Representative

|Description:||Heritage Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Member Service Representative.|
Position Purpose: Ensure members are promptly and professionally served. Responsible for assisting members with opening all credit union products and services, counseling the member on the best products for their needs, ensuring members have a positive, friendly experience, and generating additional business from our members to ensure all of their financial needs are met.
|Duties:||ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES|
1. Perform basic assigned duties of the Financial Services Consultant position.
a. Assisting members with establishing all credit union products and services
b. Explaining features and benefits of products and services and determining the best fit for each particular member
c. Accurately completing all paperwork including loan applications, signature cards, IRA enrollment forms, certificates forms and all service related paperwork
d. Managing and maintaining member relationships to help members with their future financial needs
e. Meeting sales and service goals established for the branch
f. Detailed knowledge of all product and services offered by the credit union and the ability to explain the features and benefits of the products and services
2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with credit union personnel regarding functional responsibilities.
a. Maintains regular contact with other departments to obtain and convey information and/or to correct transactions.
b. Assists other Branch personnel as needed.
c. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
d. Attends and participates in meetings as required.
3. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
a. Ensures that work area and equipment is clean, secure and well maintained.
b. Completes special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School graduate.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Company loan services, policies, and procedures.
Understanding of related legal and regulatory standards, and required loan documentation.
Knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous lending experience or experience with full-service financial institution helpful.
1-3 years related experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent interviewing, communication, and public relations skills.
Professional appearance and attitude.
Strong analytical and financial skills.
Dependable, punctual and must be able to retain confidential information.
